"I Feel Fine" Health Care

How you feel is not always a good indication of how healthy you are; in fact, you
may feel fine while life-threatening vertebral subluxations (spine distortions) are
damaging your body. We’ve all seen people looking like death warmed over who “feel
fine”. They are walking targets, waiting for disease to strike them before they decide to
do anything about their health. They “feel fine” but have no energy; they “feel fine” but
sleep poorly; they “ feel fine” but are tired, have aches and pains, headaches and
backaches. Too many people who “ feel fine” have a sudden heart attack, stroke, and
debilitating pain or are diagnosed with a serious disease such as cancer.

If you were to ask someone what their definition of health is, many people would say that if you’re not sick, you’re healthy. However, the true definition of health is a state of optimal physical, mental and emotional well-being, not simply the absence of disease. Someone can have absolutely zero symptoms, but still be very sick. In the same respect, someone could have a fever and still be functioning at a very healthy state. Let me explain…when your body raises its core temperature (fever) in response to having the flu, this is the proper and healthy response to kill the virus. You may have a symptom and be healthy and you may have no symptoms and be very unhealthy. Being truly healthy is taking a proactive approach to your health through chiropractic, exercise, nutrition, etc. in order to prevent disease. By doing this, you will get sick less often and when you do, you will get over it much more easily.

Unfortunately, many people visit a doctor of chiropractic only when they’re sick or in pain. That’s a lot better than resorting to drugs or surgery, but chiropractic has so much more to offer. Keeping your spine free of subluxations can ensure better health, vitality, and strength.

Vertebral subluxations (spine distortions) cause interference in your nervous system, the major CAUSE of all sickness and disease and SYMPTOMS of sickness and disease. Did you know that for every day you allow a vertebral subluxation to go uncorrected in your spine:

1) Your organs malfunction from bad nerve supply
2) Your nervous system degenerates
3) Your spine degenerates
4) Your body suffers from malfunction, predisposing you to major health problems in the future.

Only 10% of your nerves have the ability to give you pain. Most of them function to do things such as control muscles or to tell organs when to secrete certain hormones, but cannot sense pain. So, in many cases, I will find a problem that has been there for many years but the patient never knew about it. When patients see their x-rays for the first time, the most common response is, “ I had no idea it was that bad!” Remember, it takes time for these problems to develop to the point of having a symptom. By the time you have a symptom, usually your spine is already into the later stages of degeneration. Quite frankly, your body is so well equipped for keeping itself functioning that it often does not use its energy to warn you of small, developing problems. Unfortunately, most diseases are a process that begins with a small problem that worsens over months or years….and they go undetected until you become aware of the damage that has been done. As stated previously, chiropractors can detect these problems before you ever have a symptom.

No matter what disease or condition you have, you can benefit from a healthy spine. Spinal health is as important for your overall health as proper nutrition. Are you and your family carrying the vertebral subluxation complex in your spines? Only a chiropractic checkup can tell...
